Congratulations to Councillor Samantha Charles for the Labour victory in Chase Ward gaining a seat on Malvern Hills District Council. This is Labour‘s first Malvern Hills District Council election success since 1997.

Samantha has shown us all what can be achieved by her determined campaigning as Labour‘s General Election candidate in 2017 and dedicated service as Malvern Town Councillor for Chase over the past year.

On top of this, we have increased our Town Councillors with Jonathan Morgan (Tenbury Town), Samantha Charles (Chase), Neil Morton (Chase), Lynne Lambeth (Pickersleigh), Jo Leibrandt (Priory) and Lou Lowton (North Malvern) all achieving Labour wins. A further four Labour members have ganed seats standing as Independents.

Overall, this is by far our best set of results in West Worcestershire for many years. We owe huge thanks to Lucy Dunlop, our Campaign Co-ordinator, for her leadership and organisation of Labour‘s campaign. Thanks also to everyone who delivered leaflets, canvassed, worked on street stalls and encouraged friends and neighbours to vote to achieve this success.
