Several West Worcestershire Labour members and supporters took party in the Rally4Unity in Worcester on Saturday September 1st. The rally was organised by Worcester Trades Union Council as a counter protest against the EDL (English Defence League) who brought their unwelcome messages of islamaphobia, hate and division to the city.
Hundreds turned out for the Rally4Unity, far outnumbering the EDL protesters. To read the Worcester News report on the rally, click https://goo.gl/hQztJ9.
Worcester’s mayor, Jabba Riaz, said ‘People have come from all over the UK to unite to celebrate diversity. Hundreds have come in support of people standing up against a narrative of hate rhetoric that divides.’
