All 34 Worcestershire secondary schools have issued a letter to parents highlighting their  inability to continue to deliver a good education service with ever reducing real term budgets – and encouraging parents to write to their MP.

West Worcestershire Labour believes this situation is very serious and detrimental to local children. We will help parents fight for fair funding. Our Chair Samantha Charles has issued a press release as follows:

Begins

Letters from Malvern area secondary schools head teachers have been received by parents asking them to write to Harriett Baldwin MP to challenge her government on unfair pupil funding in Worcestershire. The heads of 34 secondary schools in Worcestershire have agreed to write to each and every parent about the desperate situation our schools face and their inability to continue to deliver a good education service with ever reducing real term budgets.

Meanwhile, a number of local primary schools in Malvern, who previously received good and outstanding Ofsted reports are receiving inadequate reports with no change in their hard working and committed teaching staff, owing to a lack of resources.

Worcestershire schools are being deliberately failed by an inept Conservative government, while Harriett Baldwin fails her constituents by voting for further cuts while claiming successes in the face of clear and deliberate massive harm.

Myself and West Worcestershire Labour Party demand that Harriett Baldwin stand up for the parents and children in her constituency and rather than tow the Tory party line, challenge the government’s unfair pupil funding in our county.
